To start off, this past week we had 35 people saved in the maximum security prison here in Matamoros.

Then in the Hospital, we had three people saved.

Also, we had two simultaneous conferences, One in Morelia Michoacán, with Bro. Manny Gomez, and one in Encarnación Díaz Jalisco, with Bro. Reynaldo Villarreal.

This month, my grandson, Humberto the 3^rd, announced his call to preach. It is great to hear my grandson (he is only ten years old) preach; that boy is quickly turning out to be a better preacher than his grandpa, and of course it does not take much to surpass grandpa.

For over thirty years, Victory Baptist Press, has been printing literature, John & Romans, New Testaments, etc. that have been sent to more than thirty countries. Just this week, for the first time in its history, VBP printed their first complete Bible. The “Reina Valera Gomez” had the honor of being chosen for such event.

The first twenty-three thousand (23,000) vinyl bibles were printed, and it was an excellent job. Praise the Lord!!

Because of the great need for more Bibles, money is needed to buy a truck-load of paper in order to be able to print the next thirty-thousand (30,000). Pray that the Lord may provide.

After ending the year 2008 with our Aztec brethren in the state of Hidalgo, 2009 took off to a great start!!

In Matamoros, Tamaulipas, just this week we had a total of about thirty souls saved at the hospital ministry, the jail ministry, as well as at our local church.

GRADUATION SERVICE 2009

This Sunday, on the 26th of January, we had a special graduation service at “Glory Land” Bible Baptist Institute.

Twelve students, after finishing three year of Bible education received a Bachelor’s degree in Theology.

ORDINATION SERVICE

During this special service, we issued certificates of ordination to ten men of God. Four were ordained that night, and six more men who had been ordained at their local church, were publicly given their certificates.

By the grace of God, during our thirty years of ministry, we have had the blessing of ordaining more than one hundred and fifty men of God.

A family tradition for now twenty-two years. After an eleven hour trip in two vehicles (a van loaded up with sixteen passengers, luggage, and seven boxes of Bibles; a minivan with 12 passengers, and luggage), we finally arrived to the mountains of Hidalgo. Very tired from the trip, we drove in to the village of Ixcatlán. But as soon as the service began and after we saw hundreds of Aztec Indians make their way into church, we could say, “It was worth it.”

Cancer reminiscences

To hear my son, Humberto Jr., preaching with the power of God; More so when two miles down is the village of Tamaya, where in 1993 the Aztec Indians had to carry my son on their shoulders, towards the main road, for he was ill with what turned out to be a deadly cancer; Fifteen years later, with his wife, four children, and preaching His word. We have a God of miracles!!

Also we had great preaching by Alfredo Cortéz, Crescenciano Cruz and Adolfo Carrizalez

Our trip ended on a high note in the village of Pahuatlán. With more than seven-hundred in attendance, it seemed there were more people outside the church building than inside. The altar filled with souls surrendering to the Lord.
